Swim Team Requirements:
- 50 yards Freestyle
- 50 yards Backstroke
- 10 Yards Dolphin Kick
- 25 Yards Breaststroke Kick
- Standing Dive
- Freestyle Flip-turn
Who Needs to Try Out?
Any new swimmer interested in joining the Sea Dragons for the Fall/Winter 2008-2009 Season (September-February).
If your child has been in the CRA Lesson Program before and has been evaluated at a level 5 or higher, please register him/her for two classes of the level he last completed. (Please do not sign up for classes on Tuesday, Saturday or Sunday). We will evaluate these swimmers to see if they are appropriately placed within the lesson/practice group structure.
If your child has not been in our Lesson Program and has no competitive experience, please be aware that we cannot guarantee a spot on the team, nor can we guarantee particular lesson times.
If your child has not been in our Lesson Program but does have competitive experience, please bring a list of his best times. We will evaluate these swimmers primarily on technical ability, but also based on their prior meet experience. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee a spot on the team.
Tryouts
Swimmers will meet with the CRA Coaches, who will lead them through a series of skills. At the end of the evaluation, the swimmer will receive a level or team placement.
After Tryouts
Parents will be given an opportunity to register their child for the CRA Sea Dragons on the day of the tryouts.
Please Don’t Worry
If your swimmer doesn’t have all the necessary technical skills to join the Sea Dragons on September 6th, there are other opportunities to join the team. CRA Coaches and Instructors will be on hand to advise all swimmers as to steps that will enhance the possibility of joining the Sea Dragons in the future.
For 10 and Under developmental swimmers in our Lesson Program, there will be an opportunity to join the team in December if the necessary skills have been acquired.
Swim Team Practice for New Members
Start Date: Monday, September 8th
No swimmer will be allowed to swim with the team until all the paperwork has completed and payment has been made.
